Trek introduces faster, smoother, more integrated Domane models

[Waterloo, WI] –Trek released the third generation of its popular endurance road bike today, unveiling all-new Domane SLR and SL models that are faster, smoother, and more versatile than their predecessors. Domane now features an all-new aerodynamic framewith internal cable routing and integrated storage, clearance for tires up to 38c, and a proven endurance geometry that’s right for most road riders.

This is by far the fastest Domane we’ve ever made. The new design improves on all the best-loved parts of the previous generations. It’s smoother, more integrated, and more capable than ever, and it brings better performance to a broader audience. – Jordan Roessingh, Trek’s Director of Product for Road Bikes.

Shaped aerodynamic tubes, internal cablerouting, and better integration make the new Domane significantly quicker than previous models. In a wind tunnel test comparing the new frame to last year’s, the new frame saved riders over one minute per hour.

New Domane SLR and SL models are equipped with Trek’s road-smoothing Front and Rear IsoSpeed. This technology, which soaks up fatiguing bumps in the road so riders can stay stronger longer, was first introduced on the Domane platform in 2012.

Domane SLR models feature the same damped Adjustable Top Tube IsoSpeed as Trek’s newest Madone models, which allows riders to fine-tune compliance to their preference and terrain.

The all-new frame has an integrated storage compartment that allows riders to neatly stow away tools and gear internally. A jerseypocket or saddle pack can do the job, but these solutions don’t always look or feel great. Domane’s new integrated storage keeps these essentials protected, while still allowing for a water bottle cage on the down tube. New Domane models also feature a saddle-integrated mount for a Flare R tail light.

The new Domane was built for speed, confidence, and control for all riders. New models come stock with disc brakes and 32c tires (except Domane SLR 9 eTap, which comes stock with a set of wide 28c tires), though the frame will accept wide tires up to 38c with Trek’s recommended 4mm of clearance between the tire and frame.

The new Domane was designed to make every road ride better for riders of all genders and body types. It’s the road bike for everybody—and every body. The endurance geometry puts you in a position that’s fast, stable, comfortable over long distances and epic adventures, and right for almost every road rider.

The new Domane is also available immediately for customization through Project One, Trek’s custom bike program.
